A scholarship will be awarded each year in the memory of Alice O. Wilkins, “The Mother of Education”, of the all black school in Port Lavaca, Texas.

The scholarship will be presented to a high school graduating senior whose parent or family originated from Port Lavaca and resides anywhere, in the United States of America. The recipient must be a graduating high school senior and plan to attend an accredited college or vocational school, or a college student continuing his/her education.

Note: A high school student will have priority.
